Use this searchable database to determine the amount of time a city, park or other area within Missouri will be within the Moon's shadow. While our St. Louis Eclipse Task Force is focusing on the Greater St. Louis area, we have included other Missouri towns along the path as well.
How many people in Missouri live within the path?
The path of "totality" for the August 21, 2017 eclipse will cross through the middle of the state of Missouri. Of Missouri's 6.1 million residents, 3.4 million live directly within the narrow path of totality. Missouri has nearly 30% of the 12 million residents in the US that are lucky enough to live directly in the path. Anyone not directly in the path of totality will only see a partial eclipse.
Closer to home, St. Louis has 1.6 million residents who live in the direct path of totality. This ties us with Nashville even the only southern and western parts of Greater St. Louis lie within the path.
Below is a searchable database of Missouri towns within the path of totality.
You can enter text into the search box to quickly find a particular town. You can also sort by county and duration. The "TaskForce" column with "Yes" or "No" indicates whether or not the St. Louis Eclipse Task Force is supporting this area.
